Keeper Security has launched a workflow application for ServiceNow that lets administrators manage Keeper Vault tasks from within the platform.

The integration is designed to handle privileged access requests, record storage, endpoint privilege approvals and one-time credential sharing through ServiceNow's IntegrationHub, Flow Designer and service catalogue portal.

Aimed at enterprise administrators and security teams that already use ServiceNow for IT workflows, the product allows users to submit requests and approvals without switching between separate systems.

Available through the ServiceNow Store, the application uses Keeper Commander, the company's command-line tool, running in service mode on a ServiceNow MID Server to connect to Keeper Vault.

Workflow changes

One function is access request management. End users can request access to specific vault records or folders through the ServiceNow service catalogue, with requests routed to approval groups before records are shared.

The integration also supports endpoint privilege management approvals. Requests raised from endpoint devices can automatically create Security Incident Response tickets in ServiceNow, where administrators can approve or deny them and close the tickets with comments once resolved.

Another feature lets administrators and fulfilment teams create new records directly in Keeper Vault from ServiceNow, including database credentials, login records, server credentials, SSH keys, software licences, secure notes and membership records.

Security teams can also search vault records and folders by name or unique identifier from the ServiceNow task interface. The application includes one-time sharing, allowing administrators to grant time-limited access to a record without providing permanent vault access.

Setup includes MID Server configuration, installation of the Keeper Commander tool, service mode activation and assignment of approval groups. The application does not require custom code.

Security focus

The launch comes as companies face growing pressure to control access to sensitive records and privileged credentials while maintaining audit trails and meeting internal compliance requirements. Manual approval processes can slow access and lead to inconsistent enforcement across teams and systems.

By placing these controls in ServiceNow, Keeper is positioning its software within a platform already used by many large businesses for service management and workflow automation. ServiceNow says more than 85% of Fortune 500 companies use its platform.

Keeper focuses on identity security and privileged access management. Its broader product set includes password and passkey management, secrets management, privileged session management and endpoint privilege management.

The company also markets tools for threat detection and access controls for human users, machines and other non-human identities. The new ServiceNow workflow product adds another route into large enterprise IT departments, where access approvals and service requests are often centralised in ticketing systems.

Craig Lurey, chief technology officer and co-founder of Keeper Security, said the integration reflects a broader approach to enterprise deployment.

"This integration reflects how we think about enterprise deployments: meet organisations inside their existing platforms and make security frictionless without making it permissive," Lurey said.

He added detail on the technical link between the two systems.

"The Keeper Commander CLI running in service mode on the MID Server gives ServiceNow a direct, secure channel into the Keeper Vault, enabling real automation without compromising our zero-knowledge architecture," he said.
