Canon Singapore has launched a cybersecurity suite in partnership with ESET, adding three security offerings to its portfolio in Singapore.

The suite includes managed detection and response services, cybersecurity awareness training, and customised security systems for larger organisations. It is aimed at businesses seeking broader protection across devices, networks, email, and cloud applications.

The expansion reflects Canon's push beyond document and device security, where it has long operated through printers, imaging systems, and workplace technology. In Singapore, the company is positioning cybersecurity as part of a broader business continuity agenda rather than a task confined to IT departments.

The shift comes as cyber incidents continue to rise in the city-state. Citing figures from the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore, Canon noted a 49% increase in phishing attacks, with manufacturing and banking among the targeted sectors. Nearly 40% of cyber attacks in Singapore are aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises.

Three services

The managed detection and response offering, based on ESET technology, is designed to provide continuous monitoring and response support. It covers endpoints, email, and cloud applications, and includes vulnerability management, patching, and threat hunting.

For larger organisations, Canon is also offering a higher-tier version with more detailed visibility, customised threat hunting, and remote digital forensic incident response support. This option is intended for enterprises with more complex security requirements.

The awareness training product focuses on staff behaviour through online lessons, simulated phishing exercises, and game-style elements. It is designed to help organisations test and improve employee responses to cyber threats.

The customised enterprise security service is aimed at businesses with more complex digital environments, including manufacturers. Security specialists working with ESET will help customers design and deploy systems based on specific operational needs.

Boardroom focus

Canon is presenting the offering as a response to a threat environment that affects entire organisations rather than isolated systems. The approach reflects a broader trend in the cybersecurity market, where vendors increasingly pitch services in terms of resilience, operational continuity, and risk management.

The new range extends Canon's "security by design" approach across more of its technology portfolio. It links the company's established role in physical document and device protection with digital security services covering networks and cloud-based systems.

Too Kok Yong, Head of Domestic Operations Group at Canon Singapore, said the company is seeing customer needs change as attack surfaces expand.

"For decades, Canon has been a trusted partner in protecting sensitive information where it is most vulnerable-at the document and device level. However, as businesses become more digitally connected, we are seeing a clear shift in the threat landscape, with cyberattacks now targeting every touchpoint of an organisation," he said.

He said the new service line is intended to connect physical and digital protection across a company's operations.

"Canon is evolving to meet this challenge by bridging the gap between physical and digital security. With the addition of the new cybersecurity suite, we are providing a unified defence that secures the entire business ecosystem-from the printer in the office to the network behind it. This preventive approach ensures that our customers, whether small or large, can keep their business operations simple and secure, allowing them to focus on growth without disruption," Yong said.

Canon Singapore serves as the company's headquarters for South and Southeast Asia, covering the domestic market as well as 22 other countries and regions. The new cybersecurity suite is now available in Singapore.
