Snowflake and Mandai Wildlife Group have built an internal data platform called Animal 360 for animal care and veterinary teams, with implementation partner Infinite Lambda.

Animal 360 brings together animal husbandry, veterinary, nutrition and genealogy records that were previously spread across multiple systems into a single searchable interface. It lets staff retrieve information and summaries in natural language using Snowflake Cortex AI and large language models.

Mandai Wildlife Group oversees Singapore's Mandai Wildlife Reserve, which includes Bird Paradise, Night Safari, Singapore Zoo, Rainforest Wild Adventure and River Wonders, as well as other nature attractions and public green spaces. Across those operations, the group manages 20,000 animals spanning more than 900 species.

Each animal generates an extensive lifetime record, including daily keeper observations, veterinary treatments, breeding records and nutrition logs. Mandai Wildlife Group now holds more than 600,000 keeper and veterinary notes, creating a large body of information for staff to review when making care decisions.

Before the new system, that material was stored in separate databases and records systems, requiring keepers and vets to piece together an animal's history from several sources. The new platform is intended to reduce that manual work by returning results through a single query interface.

The project has already moved beyond an initial trial. Following a pilot with Mandai Wildlife Group's life sciences teams, the platform is being rolled out more widely and refined through user feedback.

Early use

One early application involved primate keepers at Singapore Zoo, who used the system to retrieve and analyse historical mating records across a troop of proboscis monkeys while estimating a pregnant female's likely due date.

The platform could also help staff examine welfare and pathology information at scale, making it easier to spot patterns that might otherwise take longer to assemble manually. Mandai Wildlife Group has also created a separate platform called Business 360 for its commercial operations.

Siew Yeow Loye, Chief Information Officer at Mandai Wildlife Group, outlined how the platform changes day-to-day work for care teams.

"Our vets and keepers have always drawn on multiple sources to understand an animal's history, but bringing that information together took time. With Animal 360, they can simply ask a question and have it pulled together for them, so they can spend less time gathering information and more time doing what they do best - caring for the animals. The information has always existed across our systems, and AI now lets us surface it instantly, in context, right when our teams need it. That's where we see AI adding the most value," said Siew Yeow Loye, Chief Information Officer at Mandai Wildlife Group.

For Snowflake, the project adds to a growing list of sector-specific uses for data and AI tools in Singapore. The work depended on unifying and governing data that had previously been siloed.

"AI is only as good as the data behind it, and what Mandai Wildlife Group has built shows what becomes possible when that data is unified, governed and accessible," said Jenny Koh, Country Manager at Snowflake Singapore.

"The collaboration is part of Snowflake's broader commitment to enabling data-driven impact across industries in Singapore and the region, and we are proud to see Snowflake's infrastructure being used in service of something as meaningful as animal care," Koh added.

Infinite Lambda served as the implementation partner on the system build, focusing on data integration and shaping the platform so operational teams could query records more directly.

"Our role is to bridge the gap between complex data and actionable outcomes," said Nas Radev, Chief Executive Officer at Infinite Lambda.

"What we built with Mandai Wildlife Group gives their teams the tools to act on data they have always had but never been able to fully use. That is where the real impact lies," Radev said.

The work has also brought external recognition for Mandai Wildlife Group. Animal 360 received the 2026 Snowflake APJ Data Drivers Award in the Data for Good category for its use of AI in animal care.

The case also shows how AI deployments are moving into operational settings where staff need quick access to fragmented historical records rather than fully automated decision-making. In this case, Animal 360 is designed to build context more quickly before vets and keepers apply their professional judgement.
