RemoFirst tops Employ Borderless's inaugural EOR awards

Employ Borderless has launched its inaugural Top EOR Providers awards, ranking RemoFirst first overall among nine shortlisted providers.
The Singapore-based hiring advisory platform assesses employer of record providers, which act as the legal employer for overseas workers on behalf of client companies. The model is widely used by businesses that want to hire internationally without setting up local entities in each market.
Remote ranked second overall, followed by Multiplier in third, Hire with Columbus in fourth, Deel in fifth, Pebl in sixth, Oyster in seventh, Papaya Global in eighth, and Rippling in ninth. The awards give "Winner" status to the top-ranked provider, "Top Pick" badges to those placed second to fifth, and "Recognised" badges to those placed sixth to tenth.
The rankings were based on four weighted pillars: entry pricing, country coverage, support quality, and platform depth. Entry pricing accounted for 40% of the score, country coverage 25%, support quality 20%, and platform depth 15%.
The process also drew on public review data from G2, Trustpilot, Capterra, and Glassdoor, alongside monitoring of industry forums and professional groups. Employ Borderless combined that material with its own testing of providers across 10 operational categories and direct interviews with HR teams using the platforms.
According to the rankings, RemoFirst received the highest overall score at 9.3 out of 10. It also won several sub-categories, including Best Value EOR, Startup Leader, Best for Latin America, and Best Customer Support.
Remote placed second overall with a score of 8.9 out of 10 and led several specialist categories. These included Enterprise Leader, Best for Europe, Most Innovative, Best for Compliance, Easiest to Use, Best for Global Coverage, and Most Thorough.
Multiplier ranked third overall with a score of 9.1 out of 10. It topped the Best Global Payroll category and placed first in Best for Asia Pacific. The awards also recognised providers outside the overall top nine in some sub-categories, including Thera, Native Teams, Globalization Partners, and One Global Payroll.
Method and rankings
Employ Borderless said the awards were designed as an editorial recognition programme rather than a sponsored listing. The evaluation aimed to distinguish between marketing claims and operating performance through review aggregation, direct testing, and customer interviews.
For this cycle, the platform also collected structured feedback from businesses referred through its service after they had signed up with a provider. That formed part of the evidence used to shape some of the final standings.
Robbin Schuchmann, Co-Founder, Employ Borderless, outlined the latest review cycle in a statement. "Our Spring 2026 awards reflect a market that continues to evolve. Several providers expanded their country coverage, improved their platforms, and adjusted pricing. We updated our evaluations accordingly. What has not changed is how we assess providers: through direct testing, aggregated review data, client conversations, and transparent pricing comparison. For this quarter, we also gathered feedback from companies we referred to these providers - asking them directly about their experience after signing up. That first-hand input shaped several of the rankings. It will be interesting next quarter to see how these winning providers move, up or down, based on the data we find when we conduct our Summer 2026 awards in October," Schuchmann said.
Broader market
Employer of record services have become a prominent part of the cross-border hiring market, as companies use third-party platforms to employ staff in countries where they do not have a legal presence. Providers in the sector generally compete on price, geographic reach, onboarding, payroll administration, compliance, and customer service.
In the overall ranking, the providers covered between 154 and 186 countries, based on Employ Borderless figures. Published starting prices also varied widely, from USD $179 per month for Hire with Columbus to USD $699 per month for Remote and Oyster.
The awards also divided recognition into narrower use cases to help companies compare providers by hiring profile and region. Alongside regional distinctions for Europe, Asia Pacific, and Latin America, the category list covered areas including integrations, compliance, support, payroll, and ease of use.
Employ Borderless was founded in 2024 and describes itself as an independent advisory platform focused on global hiring services, including employer of record, professional employer organisation, and payroll providers. The awards will be updated quarterly.
In the main Spring 2026 table, RemoFirst placed first ahead of Remote and Multiplier, while Deel ranked fifth and Rippling ninth.
