Prometheus Group buys Webalo to boost frontline AI
Prometheus Group has acquired Webalo, a US software company that provides AI-enabled tools for frontline workers to digitise tasks and operational activities.
The deal brings together Prometheus Group's enterprise asset management software with Webalo's connected worker platform. The companies said the combined offering links plant-floor activity with planning, execution and compliance workflows.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Frontline focus
Prometheus Group sells software used by industrial firms to manage assets and maintenance programmes. It positions its platform around integration with enterprise resource planning systems and the use of AI in work management and analytics.
Webalo provides digital workflows for frontline teams and operational staff. It targets organisations that still use paper and spreadsheets for inspections, rounds and task lists. The company said those approaches can create delays and gaps in reporting because data needs manual re-entry.
The two companies framed the acquisition around the flow of operational data from the point of work into systems used for decision-making. They said the combined product set forms a "closed-loop" execution model in which tasks, reporting and follow-up work connect to the system of record used for maintenance and asset management.
"We are addressing a longstanding challenge in industrial operations: the gap between frontline activity and enterprise execution," said Eric Huang, Chief Executive Officer, Prometheus Group.
"Webalo extends the Prometheus-AI platform with an AI-powered frontline data capture layer that integrates directly into digital workflows. Together, we help customers capture data at the point of work, turn issues into action, and gain real-time visibility into performance, compliance, and risk," said Huang.
Prometheus Group said the acquisition adds a frontline data capture layer that feeds into digital work processes. It said this layer records observations and task outcomes as work occurs, rather than after the fact.
Workflow integration
In the companies' description of the product split, Webalo provides the user interface and workflow layer used by frontline operators. Prometheus Group provides the planning and execution layer in the enterprise system, including prioritisation of work and the creation of planned tasks.
Industrial firms often run complex asset bases that span production equipment, utilities and supporting infrastructure. They also operate under safety and compliance requirements that demand audit trails and timely issue resolution. The companies said these pressures have increased alongside the volume of operational data generated on-site.
"From day one, Webalo was built to empower frontline teams and make their work visible, actionable, and valuable to the enterprise," said Peter Price, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Webalo.
"By joining Prometheus Group, that vision scales dramatically. Together, we are giving customers a seamless path from frontline data capture to planning, execution, analytics, and compliance. Our customers will see faster detection of issues, quicker response, and far greater confidence in their operational data," said Price.
The companies said the approach replaces manual methods with AI-enabled digital workflows designed for operator adoption. They also said it reduces disconnected data flows between plant-floor activity and enterprise reporting. Prometheus Group and Webalo linked this to execution speed and compliance processes.
Industrial software
The acquisition also reflects continued consolidation in industrial software, where vendors aim to cover a broader part of operational work, from frontline execution through to analytics and management reporting.
Prometheus Group said its software integrates with ERP systems, which many industrial firms use as a core system of record for finance, procurement and maintenance planning. Webalo said its platform integrates with enterprise and industrial software systems and supports large numbers of users in operational settings.
The companies did not provide detail on integration timelines, product roadmap changes, or whether Webalo will continue to operate as a distinct brand. They also did not disclose customer numbers or revenue figures associated with the transaction.
"Prometheus Group shares our customer-first mindset and our belief that digital transformation only works when it starts with the people doing the work. This combination allows us to deliver meaningful impact across operations, maintenance, and leadership," said Price.
Prometheus Group said the combined platform will connect what happens on the plant floor to enterprise planning and execution workflows, with compliance and performance reporting flowing from the same data capture process.
