LG Electronics has launched the WallFit air purifier in Singapore for households in the city-state.

The model is designed for rooms of up to 59.4 square metres and has a slim profile that sits close to a wall or in narrow spaces, making it suited to urban homes where floor space is limited.

The launch adds a new format to LG's air treatment range in Singapore, where compact appliances have become a growing focus as apartment layouts tighten and consumers place more emphasis on products that blend into living areas.

WallFit includes what LG calls a Dual Airflow system and a three-stage V Filter. LG says the filter captures 99.999% of ultra-fine dust particles down to 0.01 micrometres and also helps reduce airborne viruses, bacteria and mould.

Independent testing found a 99.9% reduction in airborne mould, a 99% reduction in airborne bacteria and a 98.6% reduction in airborne viruses under specified test conditions. The filtration system also helps address indoor gases including toluene, ammonia and formaldehyde, according to LG.

Energy use

The purifier also includes an AI mode that adjusts fan speed using real-time air quality readings. Testing by TÜV Rheinland showed up to 30.5% lower cumulative energy consumption when the energy-saving function was enabled compared with auto mode, LG says.

Users can connect the unit to the LG ThinQ app to monitor air quality, switch operating modes and receive filter replacement alerts. Internet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections are required for setup and smart functions.

Design focus

Rather than using the conventional tower or box format common among air purifiers, WallFit has a flatter design with elevated legs and a front cover that detaches for filter changes. A top outlet vane closes when the unit is switched off, which LG says helps prevent dust from entering the outlet.

The unit also includes an ioniser for internal hygiene, which LG says reduces internal bacteria by up to 99.6%.

Five optional filters are available for different household uses: pet, cooking, smoke, allergen and formaldehyde. This gives buyers the option to tailor the product to specific indoor air concerns rather than rely on a single standard filter set.

Singapore has been an active market for air treatment products, with demand shaped by concerns over allergens, haze episodes, cooking emissions and the amount of time residents spend indoors in high-rise housing. In response, manufacturers have increasingly focused on quieter designs, lower energy use and products that take up less visible floor space.

LG's local business spans home entertainment, home appliances, air solutions and business products. The WallFit launch strengthens its position in the home air category, where brands compete not only on purification claims but also on design, maintenance and smart home integration.

The WallFit is now available in Singapore through LG's online store and authorised retailers nationwide.
