Zitcha names Josh Forsyth as APAC sales lead amid expansion

Zitcha, an Australian retail media platform, has recently appointed Josh Forsyth as the APAC sales lead amid its ongoing growth in Australia and New Zealand and its upcoming expansion into the retail media market in Asia.

Forsyth’s appointment comes as Zitcha continues to strengthen its presence globally, operating in countries such as the US, UK, Canada, New Zealand, and South Africa. His role will involve growing Zitcha’s business in Australia and New Zealand while spearheading the company's push into Asia. This expansion aims to empower retailers to monetise their media assets, including websites, social media, above-the-line advertising, display, search, email, and in-store promotions. Retailers and brands in the APAC region will be able to target audiences more effectively using first-party data and personalised approaches to drive additional revenue.

A significant market opportunity exists in the region, as highlighted by a study from the IAB Southeast Asia and India, which surveyed almost 2,000 senior marketers. The research indicated that 99% of respondents planned to increase their retail media spend within the next year, with 88% already advertising on one to three retail media networks and 87% intending to integrate retail media advertising into their media strategies this year.

Forsyth will report to Nick Hinsley, Zitcha's chief revenue officer, who remarked, "Retail media in Australasia and Asia represents a significant, but so far relatively untapped, opportunity for retailers wanting to more efficiently and effectively leverage their media assets for brand advertising partners. The appointment of Josh is the exciting next development in Zitcha’s continued success locally and our move into Southeast Asia and beyond."

Hinsley emphasised the importance of having talented individuals like Forsyth on the team to support Zitcha's technological capabilities and customer-first approach. He noted that this blend of talent and technology positions Zitcha to help retailers and brands navigate the evolving digital advertising landscape, which he described as the third and biggest wave in the field, following search and social media.

Forsyth brings over eight years of experience in senior sales, partnerships, and operations roles at major adtech companies, including Yahoo, The Trade Desk, and Vistar Media, where he assisted clients in adapting to new and emerging programmatic channels. Commenting on his new role, Forsyth remarked, "Zitcha is a market-leading retail media platform that continues to innovate to meet the needs of retailers and brands that understand the value in building and operating effective retail media networks.
