Qashier has launched QashierGM, an AI general manager for merchants using its platform. The tool is available to Qashier merchants in Singapore and will roll out in Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines next month.

Built into QashierHQ, the company's web and mobile app for managing sales, payouts, products and staff, it lets business owners ask questions in plain language about sales, payouts and menu items. It can also carry out routine administrative tasks once a user approves the action.

QashierGM uses each merchant's own transaction and settlement data rather than general information. That lets it explain, line by line, why a payout is lower than a day's sales, or identify an outlet that has underperformed over a given period.

The launch adds an AI layer to an increasingly crowded merchant software market in Southeast Asia, where point-of-sale, payments and business management providers are trying to stand out by adding more automation and data analysis to their systems. Qashier says it serves more than 25,000 businesses across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.

Alongside QashierGM, it has introduced Crew, a work chat product built into the same system. Staff can tag "@GM" in conversations to ask for information, update an item or send a customer an invoice with a payment link.

Access is tied to job permissions within the platform. A Store Manager can act only for their own location, while larger changes are routed to someone with authority to approve them. The AI sees only conversations where it is tagged.

Routine tasks

Owners can use the system to update prices, mark items as sold out or add new products. Before any change is made, QashierGM presents a card showing what will be altered and where. Nothing is implemented until the user confirms it.

Multi-outlet businesses can also use the tool to compare store performance and send a change across every location in a single request. Users can set alerts in plain language, including prompts for unusual refunds or notifications when the first staff member clocks in.

Christopher Choo, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Qashier, framed the product around the operational pressure on smaller businesses. "Most small business owners can't afford a general manager, so they become one after closing, going through reports at midnight," said Christopher Choo, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Qashier.

"QashierGM is the manager they never had. It already knows the business, takes on the routine work and never makes a change without asking. With Crew, it now works alongside the whole team, not just the owner," Choo said.

Merchant feedback

The launch follows an open beta that started in September and included businesses ranging from single-site cafés and shops to multi-site chains. Food and beverage operators were the most active users, with common questions covering sales trends, best sellers and payouts.

Some merchants have also used the tool to suggest seasonal promotions based on popular items. Jun Rong, Operations Manager of Coexist Coffee Co., described the system as a faster way to get information from Store Managers.

"Running a café means wearing every hat, and the numbers usually wait until after closing. QashierGM already knows our sales, payouts and menu, so I just ask. When we plan a promotion, it suggests ideas based on what our customers actually buy, and nothing changes until I confirm. It feels like having a general manager who's been with us from day one," said Jun Rong, Operations Manager of Coexist Coffee Co.

Regional reach

Crew is included with Qashier and Enterprise plans. The chat product supports direct messages, team- or department-based group chats, and announcements with read receipts, separating work conversations from the consumer messaging apps many small businesses use informally.

Both Crew and QashierGM work in several languages used across the region, including English, Mandarin Chinese, Malay and Thai. Qashier also plans to extend QashierGM into third-party services such as Gmail and Google Business Profile so merchants can manage supplier emails, customer enquiries and reviews from the same setup.

On the business side, Qashier says it processes more than USD $1 billion in annualised payment volume and has been profitable since December 2025. It also raised USD $6.125 million in Series A+ financing in June 2026.

Choo said the broader aim is to let merchants handle operational work where it appears. "A good general manager handles the work wherever it lands, not just inside one system," Choo said. "This is the first step."
