Open Campus pilots verifiable hiring credentials in Vietnam

Fri, 6th Mar 2026

Open Campus has signed a memorandum of understanding with Le & Associates and SKALE for a pilot in Vietnam that links verifiable education credentials with job matching and recruitment screening.

The initiative will focus on sharing verified achievements between candidates and employers. Applicants will present credentials and identity information during hiring, enabling employers to screen candidates using validated skills rather than relying solely on self-reported CVs.

The pilot will initially target high school and university students entering the workforce. The partners will assess whether portable, trusted credentials improve alignment between what candidates can prove and what employers specify in job requirements.

Open Campus describes itself as a community-led decentralised autonomous organisation working on infrastructure for education credentials and identity. Le & Associates is a long-established human resources services provider in Vietnam. SKALE operates a digital recruitment platform using automated matching and screening tools.

The arrangement combines three components: Open Campus will provide credential and identity infrastructure and an education ecosystem; Le & Associates will contribute recruitment operations and market knowledge; and SKALE will provide the online recruitment platform hosting parts of the job-matching and screening workflow.

Recruitment focus

Vietnam's labour market has expanded rapidly in recent years, with employers competing for talent across fast-growing sectors and students seeking clearer routes from education into work. Hiring teams often compare applicants using incomplete information, particularly for entry-level roles. Candidates can also struggle to present comparable proof of skills and achievements when coursework and training are assessed differently across institutions.

The partnership aims to address these issues by introducing verifiable credentials into early-career recruitment. Verifiable credentials are digital records that can be checked for authenticity and may cover academic results, course completion, or skills assessment outcomes. The partners expect these records to be portable across employers and usable across different hiring systems.

Le & Associates said clearer signalling of skills matters in a market where job requirements change quickly and employers face pressure to fill roles. Ms. Pham Thi My Le, Founder and Chairwoman of Le & Associates, said: "In Vietnam's fast-moving labor market, candidates and employers often struggle to clearly signal and match skills and capabilities. Verifiable credentials can help bridge this gap by giving employers more trusted information, while enabling candidates to present their achievements with greater clarity and confidence."

Platform model

SKALE will contribute its recruitment platform to the pilot, which uses automated methods to match candidates with roles and screen applicants. The partners have not disclosed how credential checks will appear to employers in the platform or how candidates will consent to sharing specific records for different applications.

Mr. Truong Binh Nguyen, Chief Executive Officer of SKALE, said: "SKALE is proud to contribute our online recruitment platform to this initiative. By leveraging AI-powered matching and intelligent screening, we seek to accelerate hiring cycles, enhance talent quality, and foster a more transparent and scalable bridge between enterprises and educational institutions."

Vietnam is a priority market for Open Campus's work connecting education records with employment pathways. Jonah Lau, Project Lead and Core Contributor at Open Campus, said: "Vietnam is a market where education, skills, and employment pathways are rapidly evolving. We are excited to collaborate with Le & Associates and SKALE to demonstrate how verifiable credentials can be used in real hiring workflows - helping learners demonstrate what they have achieved and supporting employers to evaluate candidates with more trusted signals of skills and capabilities."

Rollout plans

The partners have not provided a timeline for the pilot or named participating schools, universities, or employers. Further rollout details will be announced later.

Le & Associates was founded in 2001 and provides staffing, outsourcing, mass recruitment, payroll management, and other HR services. It says it deploys more than 26,000 employees nationwide and delivers more than 200 projects each year.

SKALE positions itself as an AI-driven HR technology platform in Vietnam and the wider region, focused on matching, assessment, and candidate development using competency frameworks and screening tools.

Open Campus says it is building a blockchain-based financial layer for education. Its core contributors include Animoca Brands, TinyTap, NewCampus, RiseIn, and HackQuest. The group has launched EDU Chain, which it describes as an Arbitrum Orbit blockchain for consumer-facing education applications and education finance use cases.

The pilot's findings will feed into future work on credential-powered recruitment and wider adoption of Open Campus ID and verifiable credentials across Vietnam's talent economy.
