
Nexxen appoints Shironishi as VP for Japanese expansion
Nexxen has appointed Masatsune Shironishi as Vice President, Country Manager for Japan, as part of its expansion efforts in the region.
Masatsune Shironishi joins Nexxen with over 30 years of experience in marketing, sales, and advertising. His knowledge covers various areas including linear TV, in-stream video, over-the-top (OTT) and connected TV (CTV), digital media, ad tech, and branding solutions. Previously, Shironishi held the position of Regional Vice President, Marketplace Development at Microsoft Advertising, where he had a significant impact on launching Netflix Ads in Japan. His role involved enhancing programmatic business strategies for Microsoft's platforms.
Before his tenure at Microsoft Advertising, Shironishi's career included leadership roles at ad tech companies such as Xandr, Amobee, and Videology. His previous experience also includes senior sales positions at OpenTable, Elsevier, and I&S BBDO.
On his new role, Shironishi stated, "I am thrilled to join Nexxen as its new VP, Country Manager for Japan. Given Nexxen's strengths as a platform – particularly in data, CTV and creative solutions – I'm confident we'll be able to help to transform advertising strategies throughout the Japanese market, and I'm eager to leverage my industry experience to drive this growth."
