Newgen names Tarun Nandwani chief executive officer
Wed, 8th Jul 2026 (Today)
Newgen has appointed Tarun Nandwani as Chief Executive Officer and created a Chief Growth Officer role for Pramod Kumar.
The appointments reshape the software group's senior leadership following the previously announced resignation of Virender Jeet and come as Newgen looks to expand globally.
Nandwani will take up the chief executive post on 1 August 2026. He will oversee strategy, operations, innovation and execution across the business.
Kumar, a long-serving executive, will lead worldwide growth strategy in the newly created role. His remit includes market expansion, partnerships, ecosystem development, go-to-market activity, customer acquisition and revenue growth across international markets.
The changes give two existing senior figures broader responsibilities as software companies position themselves around artificial intelligence, automation and wider business process change. Newgen said the leadership structure is intended to support its push into new markets and closer customer engagement.
The enterprise software company has been promoting a model that brings together processes, content, communications, data and AI on one platform. It says customers are moving beyond isolated AI deployments and instead want to redesign operations around connected systems and decision-making.
Leadership shift
Nandwani has been part of Newgen's leadership team and has worked across global operations, delivery and customer programmes. His familiarity with the business, customer base and internal organisation made him a natural choice for the top job, according to the company.
Kumar has spent more than 27 years at Newgen and has led several business and geographic portfolios. His appointment signals a greater focus on commercial expansion as the company seeks a broader international presence.
The board set out its view of the changes in a statement.
"Newgen has built a remarkable foundation through innovation, customer-centricity, and execution excellence. Today, enterprises across the world are looking beyond automation toward intelligent, AI-driven operations. Newgen is uniquely positioned to help organizations orchestrate intelligent enterprises at scale. Tarun and Pramod have each played an instrumental role in building Newgen's success over many years. Their leadership, customer focus, and deep understanding of our market position us exceptionally well to lead Newgen into its next phase of growth and innovation," the board said.
AI focus
Newgen has framed the appointments around demand for software that can connect information, workflows and AI tools in a more coordinated way. It says clients want systems that can adapt in real time while maintaining governance and control.
That places the company in a competitive field of software providers trying to show that AI can move from narrow use cases into wider operational systems. For Newgen, the leadership changes are directly tied to that strategy, with Nandwani expected to steer the overall direction and Kumar tasked with broadening market reach.
Nandwani said the appointment comes as customers reassess how they run their businesses.
"Newgen's journey has always been defined by innovation, customer trust, and a passion for solving complex business challenges. I am honored to take on this responsibility at a time when enterprises are rethinking how they operate in an AI-first world. Our vision is to help organizations orchestrate intelligence across every process, interaction, and decision. With our differentiated platform, talented teams, and strong customer relationships, we are exceptionally well positioned to help enterprises transform with confidence while building on Newgen's strong foundation for sustainable global growth," said Tarun Nandwani, Chief Executive Officer of Newgen.
Kumar said his new role reflects the commercial opportunity created by AI adoption among large organisations. He said customers are looking for trusted suppliers that can help modernise operations and deliver measurable returns.
"The opportunity ahead of us is tremendous. For decades, Newgen has been the trusted custodian of enterprise content and mission-critical business processes for leading organizations across the globe. With the AI-powered NewgenONE platform, enterprise content is transformed into an AI-ready knowledge foundation, enabling business processes and applications to leverage trusted organizational knowledge with greater accuracy, governance, and explainability. This is empowering our customers to make smarter decisions, automate workflows, orchestrate agents, generate contextual insights, and deliver intelligent experiences. As enterprises accelerate their AI transformation journeys, they are seeking trusted partners who can help modernize operations, unlock tangible business value from AI, and deliver measurable outcomes. I look forward to expanding Newgen's global footprint, strengthening strategic partnerships, deepening customer relationships, and accelerating the company's next phase of sustainable growth," said Pramod Kumar.
