Yesterday

Loqate has announced a new partnership with GrabMaps to integrate high-quality location data for Malaysia, with plans to extend to other Southeast Asian countries.

This collaboration enables Loqate to offer more accurate and localised address verification services for businesses operating in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia, with the aim of tackling complex addressing challenges and enhancing service delivery across the region.

David Green, Managing Director at Loqate, stated, "We are thrilled to collaborate with GrabMaps, a true leader in location data innovation, as we expand our presence in Southeast Asia. With this integration of rich local data into our platform, we are confident that we will continue to be a trusted partner that provides local and international businesses with accurate, high-quality location data and intelligence, particularly in regions where addressing is often challenging."

The partnership marks a significant development in Loqate's efforts to expand its influence in Southeast Asia, a region where eCommerce is experiencing robust growth. Accurate location data has become crucial for businesses to effectively reach their customers.

Hazel Chen, Regional Head of Group Business Development & Partnerships at Grab, commented: "We are excited to partner with Loqate and share our capabilities with them to support their mission to provide accurate location data to businesses, starting with Malaysia."

"GrabMaps offers a fresh, highly granular and extensive view of the region, like no other. Our ever-expanding and highly precise location data will help Loqate's customers to minimise inefficiencies, drive cost savings and offer better customer experiences."

GrabMaps' regional mapping data encompasses over 65 million addresses and points of interest across countries in the region, such as Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Thailand. The service is noted for its high-quality mapping data, which is both extensive and cost-effective due to its community-based mapping principles.

This data is continually updated and enhanced using Grab's extensive network of consumers, merchants, and driver and delivery partners, providing real-time information on changes like road closures and business address updates. GrabMaps handles over 800 billion API calls per month for applications related to places search, dispatch, ETA calculations, routing, and navigation.

Loqate's end-to-end platform, which includes intuitive address suggestions, verifications, and ensures data integrity and accuracy, claims to reduce address entry times by 80 per cent and errors by 20 per cent.

The company has established robust collaborations with over 14,000 brands, including Shein, Temu, eBay, IBM, and ASOS, which utilise its services to optimise operations and improve customer satisfaction.
