HPE expands Aruba networking with enhanced deployment options

Wed, 9th Apr 2025

Hewlett Packard Enterprise has announced the expansion of its HPE Aruba Networking Central product, adding new deployment options aimed at enhancing data sovereignty and network management reliability.

The expansion introduces a virtual private cloud (VPC) environment for organisations requiring specific data security and regulatory compliance as well as an on-premises deployment option capable of operating without cloud connectivity. This provides businesses and government entities with flexible deployment options to address various regulatory and operational requirements.

Phil Mottram, Executive Vice President and General Manager of HPE Aruba Networking, highlighted the importance of these new offerings in addressing modern enterprise challenges. "Organisations are increasingly prioritising data sovereignty, requiring regional and local presence for mission-critical IT solutions. With these innovations, HPE now uniquely addresses the most pressing enterprise challenges for corporate, nonprofit, and government entities with unprecedented network management deployment flexibility," he stated.

The HPE Aruba Networking Central On-Premises for Government is one of the new deployment options available, featuring FIPS 140-2 certified server hardware to meet governmental security standards. This solution is designed to improve efficiency in sectors where data sovereignty and security are vital, such as government and enterprise AI applications requiring on-premises or VPC environments free from external cloud dependencies.

Part of the solution's enhancements includes an always-on AI-powered network AIOps capability that continuously monitors and optimises network operations. This feature is supported by a fabric of AI assistants that act as network architects, gathering data, diagnosing issues, and offering recommendations to improve performance and security.

Further expanding its utility, HPE Aruba Networking Central has increased its global points of presence to ensure efficient data routing across various regions. These expansions are located in the U.S., Canada, the E.U., Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific, and China.

The platform now extends its reach to third-party devices, with a new one-year subscription for the HPE Aruba Networking Central OpsRamp Extension license. This allows for enhanced monitoring of devices from other vendors such as Cisco, Arista, and Juniper Networks.

HPE also introduced end-to-end telemetry integration with Microsoft Teams, improving the quality of experience for voice and video calls through real-time data correlation and analysis.

Another highlight of the expansion is the extensive application programming interfaces (APIs) for network observability. These APIs facilitate the sharing of observed data, providing critical insights into network performance and issues, thus serving as a significant resource for enterprise IT tools.

HPE has been steadily developing the capabilities of HPE Aruba Networking Central since its launch in 2014, supporting wired and wireless networks, local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Users such as Nobu Hotels and the Netherlands' Royal Jaarbeurs benefit from its diverse deployment capabilities.

The solution is generally packaged as an annual subscription under a two-tier licensing model and is offered through HPE channel partners.

The enhancement aims to support enterprises in meeting their security, privacy, and operational requirements with greater flexibility and control over their network management infrastructures.
