Applications open for Yahoo Academy 2025 in Sydney
Nominations for Yahoo Academy 2025 are now open, allowing rising media and marketing professionals to develop their skills in an immersive environment.
The program, which is set to take place in Sydney on April 8 and 9, aims to equip 30 participants with the skills needed to succeed in a rapidly changing workplace. Moreover, a selection of experts will lead workshops during the event. Amongst them are Rob Campbell, a renowned strategist; Simone Gupta, an earned media specialist; and Lucio Ribeiro, an artificial intelligence expert.
The academy will provide insights into key areas such as AI implementation, strategic thinking, and business problem-solving, which are increasingly critical in an evolving work environment. Participants will have the chance to apply their knowledge by addressing a real-world issue for the Australian charity, Musicians Making a Difference (MMAD), in the program's Pitch-Off competition.
John McNerney, Managing Director of Yahoo AUSEA, emphasised the importance of the program, stating: "The pace of change in our industry is relentless and it's more critical than ever now to invest in the next generation of talent. Yahoo Academy is about giving rising stars the tools and confidence to lead, adapt and thrive in an evolving workplace. Over the years, we've seen participants go on to shape the industry in incredible ways and I'm excited to see how this year's group will rise to the challenge and embrace the opportunity to make their mark."
Dominic Brook, Co-Founder of MMAD, expressed enthusiasm about working with Yahoo Academy again: "Last year's winning team blew us away with their creativity, passion and ability to think strategically under pressure. I can't wait to see that same level of drive and innovation from this year's participants. We're deeply grateful to Yahoo for their continued support and belief in MMAD's mission to create real change through the power of music and mentoring."
The workshops will feature practical sessions led by industry figures including Rob Campbell from Colenso BBDO focusing on realistic strategy implementation. Simone Gupta, from Supermassive, will cover modern media strategies, while Lucio Ribeiro from Lucio AI will provide updates on practical AI applications. Additionally, Greg 'Sparrow' Graham from The Nest Consultancy will offer advice on impactful presentations.
Elika Tamaddoni, Head of Trade Marketing at Yahoo AUSEA, highlighted the academy's objectives: "Yahoo Academy is all about pushing emerging talent to develop the skills that matter most in today's industry. We bring in top experts to challenge and inspire them. Last year's cohort proved just how powerful that experience can be turning their learning into truly impactful ideas and I'm excited to see this year's group step up, embrace the challenge, and show us what they're capable of."
Applications are open to media and marketing professionals with up to seven years of experience from Australia and Singapore. The deadline for applications is February 28, and applicants must be available to attend the Sydney workshop.
